Bonjour! Welcome to my travel blog about one of the world’s most beautiful cities. In Paris, you can see a mix of architecture, art, and culture. Famous Paris sights are Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre Museum. My travel blog, parisbypierre.com, gives you tips and information about the most interesting Paris sights.

The beloved French capital is located in the North of France, in the Île-de-France region. Almost 2.5 million people live in Paris. Paris is by far the largest city in France and one of the most beloved cities in Europe. Other popular cities in Europe are Barcelona and Rome.

The French river Seine flows through Paris; as a result, you’ll see a lot of bridges in Paris. One of the most beautiful bridges in the city is Pont Alexandre III. This beautiful bridge was built at the end of the 19th century for the World Exhibition. Pont Alexandre III has been built in a rich Beaux-Arts style with countless lanterns, statues of nymphs, and winged golden horses.

Visit Paris, the capital of France

The historical center of Paris is built on two islands: Île Saint-Louis and Île de la Cité. A long time ago, Paris was a Roman settlement. The Roman roots are still visible in the Latin Quarter district. Over the centuries, Paris became the residence of the French kings. Later, the city became the main battleground for the French Revolutionaries. Under the French Emperors, a significant part of the old buildings were demolished to make room for a modern and more straight avenue plan.

Well-known artists like Picasso and Rodin have lived in Paris. Today, there are still many artists living in the city. Paris houses several renowed museums, like Musée du Louvre and Musée d'Orsay.
